Phillip receives praise

The award of a school certificate equivalent to 18-year-old Peninsula resident Phillip Medew has been praised by Web Youth Service coordinator Mr Dion Richardson.

Phillip obtained his school certificate equivalent in October this year after attending Workwise Poems at Ettalong along with other young people.

Phillip has not lived with his family for some years and has had to reside in the medium-term youth accommodation service on the Peninsula.

"Many young people in these circumstances find it very difficult to achieve even the smallest goals, but for Phillip it's full steam ahead," said Mr Richardson.

Phillip regularly attends the PCYC and has volunteered his time to assist there at dance parties and participates in their touch footy team.

He has also assisted in other programs held there including the fashion parade, youth week events and more.

Phillip has also networked with The Web Youth Service.

"He is a very helpful, kind and considerate young man who is a pleasure to have around," Mr Richardson said.

Phillip is also currently doing work experience at the Everglades Golf Club.

"Phillip's resilience has assisted him to achieve his goals and he appreciates all the assistance given to him."
