Liam named vice-captain
Liam "Action" Jackson from Umina Surf Life Saving Club was named as the male vice-captain to the Central Coast team on Tuesday, November 11, to contest the Interbranch Surf Life Saving Carnival at Forster in December.
Liam, a member of the club's under-14 team has found some good form leading up to the carnival.
He won individual gold at the end of season NSW state carnival in March this year in the Ironman event, as well as two team silver medals in the under 13 board relay and board rescue events.
Liam then backed that up with a third place in the new season's opening event, the NSW State Endurance event at Terrigal in October.
Liam has represented the Central Coast for the last four years, and went on to represent NSW in the Interstate carnival in Tasmania at the start of the year.
"Liam is proud to wear the Umina club colours, and he puts his successes down to hard work and lots of training in the pool with Kincumber Pacific Dolphins and at the beach with the regular surf club training sessions," said club spokesman Brian Jackson.
"The club instigated a strong junior development program several years ago and the results are now there for everyone to see with a number of champions at all ages."
Umina finished fourth at last season's Central Coast branch carnival, and a first place on handicap.
