Builders paddle for foundation
Local builders Steven Johnson and Jal Labeno canoed 111km from Windsor to Brooklyn on Sunday, November 9.
Steven and Jal were among 608 boats that took to the Hawkesbury River to raise over $1.6 million for the Bone Marrow Foundation.
Steven Johnson of Woy Woy said that he and Jal Labeno of St Huberts Island had been training for four months for the event.
The trek began at 4pm of Saturday, November 8, and continued overnight to Sunday.
Steven's ground crew travelled over 430km following him down the river.
He raised over $450 from local businesses for his efforts.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can make their cheques payable to the Bone Marrow Foundation.
