Writers launch fifth book

The Woy Woy Writers' will launch their latest book at Woy Woy Public School on Sunday, November 30, at 2.30pm.

Gosford mayor Cr Robert Bell will launch the work entitled "Around a Square Table".

The Woy Woy Writers are a group of 10 seniors: Jan Cummings, Joyce Craig, Valerie Dodd, Sheila Drakely, Jean Gates, Phyllis Hardman, George Keeling, Phyllis Lindsay, Pat Lindsay and Lyn Skinner. They have been meeting weekly for 12 years and this is their fifth published book of short stories and poems, fact and fiction.

"In this book our 92-year-old wordsmith, Phyllis Lindsay, tells of her childhood growing up in the heart of Sydney, Jan remembers the wonder of holidays spent in the Woy Woy of 50 years ago and George writes of his childhood living on the docks of London," said Joyce Craig.

Their last book, "Life Love and Laughter" won the award for the best self-published book at the 2001 Central Coast Writers' Festival.

"Around a Square Table" can be purchased at the launch for $10 and authors will be available to sign copies.
