Dole work to build toddlers' trike track

Umina is to benefit from 30 new Work for the Dole placements following an announcement by Member for Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd.

A Tiny Tots Trike Track is to be built by Wyong Workwise Inc.

The project will include construction of a tricycle track, pathways, formwork, installation of playground equipment and landscaping.

The project will start on October 7 and will be built on the oval in Melbourne Ave, Umina.

The project is one of five new projects involving an additional 113 places secured by recent funding.

"Work for the Dole gives unemployed people work experience," Mr Lloyd said.

"It provides supervision by local people, and it involves teamwork and initiative by the participants. "

Nominations are currently open for the Prime Minister's Work for the Dole Achievement Awards, any member of the public can nominate a participant, supervisor or activity in the Awards, which will be announced in 2004.
