Awards for pies

Ron Bruns of Bremen Patisserie, Umina, has won a number of awards in the Great Classic Meat Pie Competition at the Sydney Fine Food Show on September 9.

He also won 10 silver medals and four bronze medals for pies ranging from the plain meat pie to the gourmet pie.

Mr Bruns said that he was delighted with the results.

"We're really proud to be able to represent the Peninsula at a national level," he said.

"We all work really hard to produce a quality product for the local area."

Mr Bruns said he was happy to be able to show that a patisserie in Umina could compete consistently with bakeries across the country.

"We have very high standards," he said.
