RSPCA shop is acknowledged

The contribution of the RSPCA shop in Woy Woy has been acknowledged at the RSPCA annual meeting.

The contribution of the Woy Woy shop, the Flora Festival and many other RSPCA activities were acknowledged as having led to the association being able to support the shelter at Somersby.

"This support has helped many unwanted and injured animals," said Val Hampson, president of the Central Coast branch.

"We are pleased to be able to say many of the animals we were able to help have found

new homes and are living out their lives happily.

"During the past year or two, we have lost some of our long time volunteers, " she said.

"Val Streeter and Val Gill were with us from the very beginning of our current shop in Woy Woy and have spent many hours working to help all animals in need.

"Brenda Bartlett and Pat Halloran have also left us.

"These girls were with us for sometime and their help was much appreciated."

The annual meeting elected a committee of president, Val Hampson, vice-president Trish Christesen, secretary Linda Hansen, treasurer Margaret Rolfe and delegate Vicki McKinnon.

The RSPCA is looking for volunteers who would like to work in the Woy Woy shop.

For more information, phone Val Hampson on 4341 0414.
