Nomination of teachers wanted

Nominations of local teachers are wanted for the National Excellence in Teaching Awards.

Nominated teachers will receive a congratulatory Certificate of Nomination and can then go on to be candidates for the Regional and National awards.

They are also eligible for professional development grants and bequests to their schools.

"This is our opportunity to acknowledge our outstanding teachers, to show our appreciation for their efforts and given them a well-deserved pat on the back," said Woy Woy South Public School principal Mr Mick Tattam said.

"Individual parents, the P&C or past or current secondary students can submit nominations."

"Teachers are doing a fantastic job with sometimes very high odds against them and in some very frustrating conditions,' he said.

Closing dates for nominations is October 31.
