Club raises bowls flag

Bowlers from Woy Woy Bowling Club raised the Zone 15 Grade Three flag over the club on Saturday, September 20.

The flag was raised by Zone Senior Vice President Leo Finn.

Ettalong Bowling Club president Alan Johnson and his team were present on the day and joined Woy Woy bowlers for lunch and an afternoon of bowling.

During the meal break, awards were made to several Woy Woy members for services to the club.

Woy Woy Bowling Club is also looking for new members.

Chairman of selectors James Cook said that, while they had solid numbers in the higher grades, more players were needed in the lower grades.

"After winning the zone flag last year, the bowlers from grade three have remained at the club," he said.

"We must now provide a grade two team.

"New and former members are very welcome.

"Any bowler looking for a fresh start will be given an opportunity to trial and play pennants."

Cost to join the club is $41.50 for a full member, $21.50 for a multi-member.

Bowling equipment and coaching is provided free.
