Students may win environment prizes
Schools on the Peninsula have been sent entry forms for the inaugural Beryl Strom Environment Award.
The award, for students in Year 9 and 10, will be judged by Woy Woy resident and Association for Environment Education committee member Heather McKenzie as well as local ecologist Robert Payne, council staff and National Parks and Wildlife Service staff.
The theme, for International Year of Freshwater, is "Water - essential for life - maximising its potential for the Central Coast."
There are cash prizes for each year group: $250 for first place, $150 for second place, and $100 for third place.
