Hospital benefits from charity day

Everglades Country Club held its annual Taxi Social Golf Charity Day on Monday, September 15.

The proceeds from this year's match went to the children's ward at Gosford Hospital.

Organiser Mr John Lewis said that about $14, 000 would be presented to the Hospital

This will take the total raised for the Children's Ward over the past three years to $45,000.

"Not a bad effort for a social golf club," said club president Brian Crawley.

The winners on the day, all playing in balaclavas, were the team of T O'Regan, H Hardcastle, L Kennedy and G Hertmanni on a net 51 5/8.

Closely following on 51 7/8 was the team of W Cassidy, S Horgan, J Moore and M Pendrick.

Third placed was the team of P and V Weatherstone, G Smith and T Rickett.

The Charity Day concluded with professional entertainment from Harriett, from Johnny Pace and Harriett fame, and Aunt Molly.

Aunt Molly also conducted the charity auction.

Four of the major prizes went to club members, including the TV and DVD and top-class accommodation at five-star resorts.

President John Saley left a video wishing everyone the best of luck in the golf and auction.
