Dune vote disappoints

I find it disappointing to read in Council matters by John Oakley that Cr Tony Sansom voted against dune revegetation.

A councillor of his experience would know of the houses swept to sea off the sand-dunes at Wamberal in 1974.

The loss of these houses cost the ratepayer a lot of money.

Revegetation of the sand dunes is a necessity.

On a brighter note, Heather Hughes recollections were a treasure.

I can recall the pesticide spill she mentions at Hardys Bay.

The pesticide company was fined for its carelessness - not enough in my book, for the damage they did.

However, it's good to see that the crab has come back.

She ponders over how to keep the spirits warm as things change, not always for the better.

Well I'd suggest fond memories and the good deeds she has mentioned in her story will do.
