Skateboard clinic

Gosford Council will hold skateboard clinics for "intermediates" at Umina on Wednesday 18 April at 10am.

The clinic, costing $8.80 a person, aims to "take intermediate skaters to a higher standard".

"The classes represent an ideal opportunity for young people aged six and over to visit the skate parks and become comfortable mixing with other users," said the council's coordinator Mr John Ferguson.

The skate parks were designed to be used by all standards of skaters.

"Each participant must wear a safety helmet and knee and elbow pads and requires their own skateboard.

"Some safety gear will be available for hire on the day."

Experienced skate instructors will conduct one-hour classes with a maximum of four people per class.

There will be a competition after the clinic with prizes awarded.

Registrations will be accepted at the council's Woy Woy offices.

For more information, contact John Ferguson on 4325 8430.
