Hospital claims lead in critical care

Brisbane Waters Private Hospital in Woy Woy is the Coast’s prime critical care centre, according to its chief executive officer Mr Graham McGuinness.

We have the most comprehensive range of surgical, medical and critical care services on the Central Coast," he said.

"We are the only private hospital offering: level 11 intensive care services, the highest level available."

"An intensive care staff specialist is present during the day and on call 24 hours a day.

"Cardiothoracic surgery is available. There is a 24-hour on call anaesthetic service.

"A catheterisation laboratory provides cardiac and vascular angiography.

"There is also a 24-hour chest pain emergency clinic and a total cardiology service supported by specialist cardiologists, a five-bed coronary care unit and a cardiac ward.

"Our hospital is only five years old, so we have state-of-the-art medical equipment for our 24-hour resident medical cover and our outstanding nursing team," Mr McGuinness said.

The hospital has 100 beds and offers a wide range of surgical, medical, intensive care, cardiac and ancillary services.

It has an on-site radiology complex incorporating CAT scanning and nuclear medicine, a separate physiotherapy centre, an on-site pathology service and a visiting pharmacy service.

"Patients are provided with free television and daily in house movies, free local telephone calls, meals under the direction of a dietitian, a kiosk with daily trolley services to each bed and visiting hairdressers and a chaplaincy service.

"We are proud of our facility and the service that we provide to our patients", Mr McGuinness said.

"We invite everyone to come and see for themselves what we have to offer."
