Car market set to start

A car market is to be established on the Peninsula.

It will be held on the last weekend of the month in the Woy Woy Leagues Club car park.

The markets aims to allow anyone wishing to sell their car privately to use the one location in safety.

Market manager Ms Kristy Klasterka said: "I noticed all these cars on the side of the road and thought that it would be a good idea to set up a place like they have in Sydney.

"All the private sellers can get together and buyers can see a large number of cars at the same time without having to do lots of running around."

Sellers will need to have their car registration papers, road worthiness pink slip and driver's licence with them and pay a fee either for one day or for the weekend.

Telephones will be available for buyers to check on ownership and other encumbrances on vehicles before they buy.

The markets will allow sale of cars, bikes, boats, trailers, jetskis, trucks, buses and caravans and will run from 9am to 3pm each day.

Booking of spaces may be arranged through the Leagues Club.
