Folk club meets

Graeme Johnson will play at the Troubadour Folk and Music Club at its next meeting at the Woy Woy CWA Hall at 8pm on May 11.

The club usually meets on the second Friday of the month, at the CWA Hall, opposite Fisherman’s Wharf.

During these meetings, local performers as well as guest artists entertain those who attend.

The club invites people to be entertained or to take along an instrument and contribute to the entertainment.

A charge of $7 applies.

"The Troubadour also performs at local restaurants on the Peninsula where you can come along for a meal while listening to the talents of club members and guests," said organiser Frank Russell.

The next restaurant night will be at 304 on West on Thursday, May 3.

"As well as performance nights, membership of the folk club also opens opportunities to attend session nights and get togethers where members can exchange ideas, play music and build their confidence for performance.

"Separate sessions are held for bush dance music, singer-guitarist and general sessions throughout the month and members are encouraged to participate in organisation as well as participation.

"The Troubadour members entertain at nursing homes, fetes and other performance opportunities as they arise from time to time."

Membership of the club provides membership of the Central Coast Bush Dance and Music Association which runs bush dances at the East Gosford Progress Hall.

The next dance will be held on Saturday, April 28.
