Council to finish Woy Woy Rd

Gosford Council will complete the Woy Woy Rd realignment near Staples lookout using its own funds.

It has received no further funding from the State or Federal Governments.

The $1 million worth of works are due to be finished by the end of next month.

The Federal Government had given Council $500,000 as part of its Black Spot program. The amount was the maximum allowed for an individual project under the program.

After failing to secure further State or Federal funds, Council will now pay the outstanding $500,000 from its budget.

Cr Robert Bell said he thought Council should write another letter in a last attempt to secure funding.

Cr Lynne Bockholt said she thought there would be no money from the State Government.

"Not until Peats is a marginal seat," she said.
