Funds go to private schools

How many parents are aware that the Federal Government has been progressively transferring funds from the public education sector to the private system since 1996?

It’s called Enrolment Benchmark Adjustment. This gives the "private" system a second bite of the cherry.

"In this State alone, the EBA is estimated to amount to a cumulative loss of almost $100 million to public education from 1998 to 2002. By 2003, it is estimated that there will be an ongoing loss of $50 million annually, equivalent to a loss of about 1000 teacher salaries", from Inform May 2000

If you feel strongly about this undermining or white-anting of our public education system, write to John Howard or Jim Lloyd, our local Federation Member, expressing your dissatisfaction.

If no-one complains, the Federal Government will continue to divert funds from our kids into the private system.
