Grant applications sought
Gosford Council is seeking applications for its Recreation Assistance Program.
General manager Mr Peter Wilson said RAP replaced the Capital Improvement Grant Program,
"We have $40,000 in grants to be allocated to sporting and recreation clubs and associations within the Gosford local government area," said Mr Wilson.
"Funds are provided on a dollar-for-dollar basis for up to 50 per cent of the total project cost.
"The provision of materials and, to a lesser extent, voluntary labour is allowed as part of an applicant's contribution to the project cost.
"Eligible projects include upgrade or development of buildings such as amenities buildings or clubhouses, fencing, floodlighting, ground improvements, studies or investigations leading to a capital project, equipment such as uniforms and training aids, and hard court facility developments or improvements,
"All applications are ranked by the Gosford City Sports Council prior to consideration by Council," Mr Wilson said.
Applications close Friday, July 21, with successful grants to be announced by September 1.
