Joint beautification project starts
A joint beautification project developed by Gosford City Council and residents of the Correa Bay section of Woy Woy Rd has started at South Woy Woy.
Council machinery has been at work cleaning out the area among trees immediately to the west of the Shoalhaven Drive railway underpass beside Correa Bay at South Woy Woy.
The aim of the project is to make the Woy Woy Rd entrance to the Peninsula more attractive.
Rubbish vegetation has been cleared and mulch applied in preparation for plantings of Australian native grasses, shrubs, and trees.
Nola Parry, an expert on Australian native plants. is acting as planting advisor.
Council's Director of Works, Stephen Glen, assisted by Stephen Mitchellhill, Les Irwin and Wayne Reid, has taken on the responsibility for preparation of the area.
Local residents will undertake the planting activities and the on-going maintenance of the plants.
All concerned are excited that such a project has been undertaken and that Council and the community are working so closely together for the common good.
