'Best bakery' on the Coast

A Umina bakery, which prides itself on supporting local business and buying Australian-made produce, has been voted best Central Coast bakery in a recent radio poll.

Umina Bakehouse won the award after 42 per cent of those polled nominated the business, one of the highest ratings in any category.

The Bakehouse was presented the Best Bakery Award by the radio station, SEA-FM.

The framed placard is currently on show in the bakery window in West St, Umina.

Managed by Adele Sheean and Lisa Johnston, the Bakehouse specialises in quiches, pies including vegetarian pies, breads, fruit slices and wedding cakes.

The owners said they were also proud of the fact that they supported local businesses and continually achieved production utilising 98 per cent Australian supplied goods.
