Fund-raising day for charity

It’s McHappy Day in Woy Woy on Saturday, June24, a charity fund-raising day organised by McDonalds restaurants.

On this day, $1 from every Big Mac sold will help seriously ill children supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Variety Clubs of Australia.

McHappy Day is the culmination of two weeks of fundraising called McHappy Time, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Australia’s seriously ill children.

Manager of McDonalds in Woy Woy, Mr John Ursino, said there would be activities at his outlet all day on June 24.

"During the daylight hours, we will have helium balloons and face painting for the kids," he said.

"We plan to make it a fun day."

McDonald’s Australia managing director Mr.Guy Russo said: "Many charities will benefit from McHappy Time, some of which include Camp Quality, Bonnie Babes, Life Education Australia and The Salvation Army."

"For the past 10 years, every restaurant around the country has been working closely with their local community on McHappy Day to raise money for children and help create plenty of fun and entertainment in-store.

"This year, McHappy Day is a chance to celebrate with mayors, school principals, business people, sports coaches, fitness instructors, fire fighters, rescue squads and parents of McDonald’s crew all joining together for a worthwhile cause."
