Former committee petitions council

Gosford Council has received a petition with eight signatures from the former members of the Council's now-disbanded Tree Protection Committee.

They asked that funds be spent on maintenance of significant trees as recommended by the forner committee.

The petitioners also requested that remaining funds be spent on barriers for the reserve at Umina Oval to protect the native sandplain woodland vegetation which was listed in the significant tree register.

The petitioners stated that loss of vegetation had already occurred, especially at the fringes, because bike riders had been unchecked and a proliferation of bike and walking tracks had led to a deterioration of the site.
