Call for cultural complex

Peninsula resident Sheelagh Noonan is asking Peninsula residents to sign a petition for a cultural complex to be included in the Gosford CBD plan being considered by Gosford Council.

Ms Noonan is a member of the steering committee for the Central Coast Cultural Complex and Concert Hall.

She said that although the Central Coast had many fine performing arts bodies it was lacking adequate performance venues and rehearsal facilities.

The petition states that the Central Coast Conservatorium could use the space and that the complex would attract tourists, encourage audiences and performers from outside the region, provide business and jobs and put the Central Coast on the national cultural map.
