Jocelyn wins a second time

Jocelyn Maughan of Patonga Bakehouse Gallery has won the "local subject" painting award for the second year in succession at the Gosford Art Awards.

Her entry is on show at the regional gallery at Caroline Bay until September 19.

Jocelyn's painting is of local Patonga fishermen: Carl, Guy, John, Jack and Dave pulling in mullet on Patonga Beach.

Jocelyn said her sketches of the early morning mullet hauls were an inspiring resource for her work.

The work is a companion to her painting that recently won the Peninsula News Art Award.

"I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to paint a large mural on this epic scene," Jocelyn said.

Jocelyn Maughan and Robin Norling from Patonga Bakehouse Gallery will be at Gosford Regional Gallery on Saturday, September 18, at 2pm for a free public talk about their works in the exhibition.
