There from the start
The Roosters Golf Club has been a part of Everglades since the Country Club started.
A group of golfers were members of Ettalong War Memorial Club back in the 1950s and played their golf at Gosford and other nearby courses.
When Everglades opened, it became the home base.
In 1958, the Roosters Social Golf Club was formally constituted.
In 1989, it was incorporated.
There are currently just over 100 members and, within the Country Club, there would probably be another 100 members who were at some time part of the Roosters.
All current members must be Golf Sporting Members of Everglades, before being considered by the Roosters.
They must also play in the Host Club's competition, whenever possible.
Life members include Alf Carter, Alex Neill, Perc Cornish, Gordon Lobb, Bob Dicks, John Sanders and John Wills.
The Roosters support sub-junior golf, the Naggers Cup and Ladies Golf Club Championships.
Roosters play from first light on Sundays and have a couple of weekend trips away throughout the year.
Current club champion is Andrew McDonald.
New life members include Bill Lawrence and Dave Smith.
