Peninsula players in State teams

Four Peninsula waterpolo players were part of the NSW teams at the Australian Country Water Polo Championships in Noosa, Queensland, from May 24 to 28.

Tracey Elliot from Woy Woy was on the NSW women's team.

Daniel Robertson, Mick Magurran and Mitch Baird all from Woy Woy were on the NSW men's team.

After the preliminary rounds, the NSW women were unbeaten and went into the finals round to be held on the weekend as firm favourites.

The NSW men were second leading into the finals, and faced the ACT side in the semi's on Saturday, with whom they had a spiteful match in their second game.

They had to beat the ACT to advance to the final.

At the end of the tournament, the Australian Country Teams will be announced.
