Residents oppose traffic marking

Residents of Pacific Panorama Estate, Umina, are opposing changes to the access road to the estate.

They have submitted a petition to Gosford Council with 216 signatures opposing the changed traffic marking at the junction of Lone Pine Ave and Kingsview Dr with Carpenter St, Umina.

The petitioners claim that the new arrangement has created a greater problem with an increased use of brakes and engines and the lack of a safety margin for an errant vehicle on the hill.

In the interests of noise and pollution reduction, and overall greater safety, the petitioners have requested that Council to consider: the erection of a stop sign in Carpenter Street and the closure of Carpenter St at Lone Pine Ave.

They also suggested the re-erection of the 25kph signs on Kingsview Dr and Lone Pine Ave approaching Carpenter St; and the erection of a stop sign in Lone Pine Ave at the junction with Glenn St

The petition has been referred to Gosford Council's transport services section.
