Mothers play at folk club
The Mothers of Intention will play at the Troubadour Folk Club on Friday, June 11, at 8pm at the Masonic Hall Woy Woy.
The Mothers of Intention are a group of five Sydney women who explore the Celtic music tradition including jigs, reels and ballads.
They began playing when asked by a school to perform Irish dance music for their children's Maypole dance.
Six years on they play at folk festivals, including the recent Umina Festival, at clubs and private functions around Australia and have recently released their first CD "First Time".
They are all mothers and have 12 children between them.
Tickets are $10 ($8 concession) and $7 for members at the door, which includes supper.
Floorspots are available.
Guests are invited to come along and bring their instrument or voice.
