Wolves win fiery match

The Woy Woy Wolves defeated the Dodgers 6-5 in round six of Central Coast baseball in a fiery match at Rogers Park on Saturday, May 22.

The Wolves started the match with some good hits to be leading 2-nil by the second innings.

They extended their lead to 6-nil by the fourth innings and looked comfortable for a win.

Dodgers came back in the bottom of the fifth with two runs and three more runs in the bottom of the sixth.

With a score-line of 6-5 to Wolves, Dodgers had runners in scoring position and looked poised to take the lead but Wolves produced the outs to keep them in the lead.

Light stopped play in the seventh innings, which gave Wolves another close win.

Paul Jones was lead-off pitcher for Wolves with Luke Stevenson closing. Dodgers used Geoff Brotherton, Taku Kakisuki and Jason Davis as closer.

Best players for Wolves were Jason Smith at third base and Jason Marks at left field. Dodgers best was Phil Davidson.
