Complaint lodged on building condition

A resident of Railway St, Woy Woy, has lodged a complaint with Gosford Council about the condition of a building and property on the corner of Charlton and Railway Sts, Woy Woy.

Nearby resident Mr Kevin Paterson said the property was dilapidated and dangerous to the local community, especially pedestrians who walked nearby.

In a letter to the Council's general manager, Mr Paterson listed his concerns.

These included large cracks in the brickwork on two sides of the building, numerous smashed windows and the general instability of the building.

Residents have previously contacted the council about the condition of the property.

Following this, a "halfhearted attempt" was made to clean up the property but it had soon reverted back its original condition, according to Mr Paterson.

He said the building should not exempt from being maintained because it was heritage-listed and it should not be left in a dilapidated and dangerous condition.
