Students gain movie experience
Students on the senior campus of Brisbane Water Secondary College recently had the experience of participating in the filming of a feature movie.
Thirty students participated in four weeks of planning and filming, including an intensive full weekend at the Woy Woy campus.
Originally intended as background extras, the producers were so impressed with the students that some were given speaking parts.
The film, which is a pilot for a TV series, is titled "Twists of Fate" and is based on the choices that teenagers make and is targeted at the youth audience.
It will be released in Gosford later this year
"During filming, students had the opportunity to experience first hand and to learn about every facet of movie making and the roles and responsibilities of each of the many people who make a film crew," said college principal Mr Pat Lewis.
"These experiences are an outstanding addition to the many skills students throughout the college gain as they participate in the outstanding musical productions the college is renowned for.
"Look out for the production of Grease at Ettalong Memorial Club in mid November this year," he said.
