Tram donated to museum
An old Sydney Tram which has been sitting a Woy Woy backyard since the 1950s has been donated to the Loftus Tram Museum in Sydney.
The tram was recently dismantled and removed from the Moana Rd address by crane.
Lorraine Svenson, who recently moved to the property, said that her Uncle, Bill Falkner, now in a nursing home, had decided to donate the tram.
"He bought it back in the fifties when they got rid of the trams.
"He brought it up here on the back of a truck and it stayed in the backyard," she said.
Ms Svenson said that her uncle acquired the tram as he was a collector.
"The tram was filled with all sorts of things - old stoves. We even found an old kitchen sink there," she said.
