Youth concert hailed a success
A youth suicide awareness concert held by BWSC Woy Woy Campus has been hailed a success following a large turnout on Friday, March 14.
The concert was hosted by five local bands Rubidium, Rubics Cuba, Slight of Hand, Bunsen and Fyna.
David Jenkins, who was involved with the concert estimated that between 200 and 300 people attended.
"Each band donated their services for the event and spoke to the audience about teen suicide," he said.
"They made sure everyone had a good time."
Woy Woy band Fyna headlined the gig and were popular with the local audience.
"They came on stage and everyone erupted," Mr Jenkins said.
The local band has had growing success with a strong local following.
Last year, they won the Cool Schools event and are now entered in a youth rock competition.
They are currently participating in an online song competition with one song coming first in the comp and another in fourth place.
