Mission group raises $4500

The Mission Support Group of the Uniting Church in Ettalong and Umina raised $4500 for mission work last year.

It also distributed 100 knitted rugs to needy charities, both local and overseas.

The money was given to Drought Relief, Religious Education Ministries, Frontier Services, Burnside, Youth Ministry, and Board of Mission.

The Mission Support Group of the Uniting Church is a small but active group of people whose major interest is in helping people, both in the community and overseas.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the Ettalong Uniting Church Hall at 1.30pm.

The group has been supported by many knitters in the area who have contributed squares and rugs to be given to those in need.

Throughout the year, the fund-raising activities were social events, with fun and fellowship encouraged.

One of the fund-raising activities this year is a group tour to Fiji in September to experience the life and culture of village people.

Mr Jim Stewart will speak on the subject of "Insights into Dalmar and Hospital Visitation" at the next meeting on April 15.

All are welcome. For further information, contact Gwen on 4344 6188.
