Empire Bay cricket win

Empire Bay Public School's cricket team played Brisbania Public School at Ettalong oval on Friday, March 14.

Empire Bay team was successful, winning by 28 runs.

The main run-scorer was Matt Fallon with 41 not out.

He was supported by Thomas Pope (10), Alex Young (11), James Hall and Jack Jones (4).

The total score was 107, which was always going to be hard to chase from 30 overs.

Thomas Pope broke the back of the batting with three wickets and with his opening bowler partner, James Hall (one wicket for six runs from four overs), made the run chase difficult.

Alex Young bowled well with 1/5. Daine Davis was accurate, while Matt Fallon, Emily Rayner and Tully Mitchell all bowled tightly.

The bowlers and fielders only gave away 79 runs.
