Folkies to march for peace

Organisers of the Troubadour Folk Club have invited members and visitors to join them on a Palm Sunday March for Peace in Sydney.

The march will be the next major peace rally in New South Wales and will assemble at Belmore Park near Central Station at 1pm and march to the Domain.

The Troubadour Folk Club has invited all interested people of all ages to join them at Woy Woy station by 11.15am to meet the 11.26am train to Sydney which is scheduled to arrive there at 12.40pm.

"We would ;love to see a huge turn out marching under our Folk against the War banner," said club president Marilyn Russell.

"We hope to be able to add music to the event for all to enjoy," she said.

"The club will travel in the front of the train to be able to meet up with anyone wishing to catch the train at other stations.

"We will march with guitars, percussion instruments and banners and all are expected to be prepared to sing to help create that special atmosphere that only peace marches can generate," she said.

All are invited to come with appropriate songs, preferably with chords and words for the musicians and others to be able to join in.

The "Stop the War" rally is organised by the Walk against the War Coalition who are available on 0412 803 457, or info@nswpeace.org or www.nswpeace.org.
