Students start on awards scheme
Fifteen students from Brisbane Water Secondary College, Woy Woy campus, have just begun their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.
Alex Beaton and Andrew Hurl have just completed their bronze award and now are embarking on their silver award.
The school regards the Duke of Edinburgh Award as a prestigious award which has been running around the world for a number of years.
It is aimed at challenging young people and encouraging them to become well-rounded individuals.
To receive an award, students must undertake extra-curricular activities in the area of community service, physical recreation, and an expedition over a minimum of a six-month period.
