Concert for The Web

A concert was organised on behalf of The Web Youth Service at Woy Woy Leagues Club on Thursday, March 27.

Marion Varsallo from the Jean Darcy's Gaiety Players organised the event and distributed flyers and visited local businesses in Umina and Woy Woy who generously donated prizes for a raffle that was held on the day.

The Gaiety Players, a group of energetic and lively older people, danced and sang in front of a delighted audience in the Leagues Club auditorium.

The Gaiety Players perform at various venues all over the Coast.

"Most of us are in our 70s but we also have two who are in their 80s," said group member Jean Darcy

"It is a great feeling to see the joy on the faces of the people from the Nursing Homes and Hospitals."

The Web Youth Service is an organisation providing a venue for local youth to socialize in a safe environment and also to provide access to counselling and other services if needed.

Web Youth Service co-ordinator Dion Richardson said he was pleased with the outcome of the day.
