Bowls finals fiercely contested

The Everglades men's bowls quarter-finals have been fiercely contested with the semi finalists being Ted Hewson, Frank Pengelly, Eric Jackson and Les Morrison.

In the first semi -final, a magnificent game of bowls saw Les defeat Frank 31-28.

The quality of the play and the closeness of the scores ensured that every eye was on the game and both players received a standing ovation when the final bowl was played.

The second semi-final was also of a high standard but Ted's experience proved too much for Eric who just fell short of his first major semi-final.
