Trophies for pies and cakes
Ron Bruns of Bremen Patisserie Umina has won trophies and ribbons for his award winning cakes, pies and sausage rolls at the Castle Hill Bread Show on March 25.
In the meat pie classes, he won first place for gourmet pies and first place for sausage rolls.
In the cake and pastries classes, he won first place for decorated gateau and second place for round sponge and french pastry.
He also won the overall champion cake.
"The show was much bigger than I thought it would be," said Mr Bruns.
The judging criteria were: volume and general appearance 30 points, texture 25, aroma 25 and colour 20, a total of 100 points.
For winning, Ron will be supplying products to the Royal Easter Show as showpieces.
