Year 11 business studies students of Woy Woy school have opened a virtual firm in the virtual market of practice firms under the mentoring of John Moore at Ettalong Beach Club Fitness Centre

The gym operates on Fridays from 1pm to 3pm and students give up their lunchtime to work in the practice firm.

The firm is structured with CEO Michael Milano and six directors of departments.

A comprehensive memo and newsletter keeps all departments in touch with each other.

The regular board meetings ensure that the firm reacts quickly to any economic or market pressure.

Introductory offers have seen the majority of staff at Woy Woy High join up with the fitness centre.

Local virtual businesses have been targeted to include the gym membership in any staff entitlement.

Directors are taking advantage of other practice firm offers such as a residential in-service for company directors in Melbourne on starting a new business.

The practice firm network is an international teaching strategy for students from

TAFE schools and universities, with the major focus being the fact that practice firms are student directed.
