Marc to get German training

Marc Falzon of Umina is one of four Central Coast soccer players who have been chosen to fly to Germany for three weeks of intensive training and evaluation at the famous Torschuss Football Academy (TFA) near Stuttgart.

The four 19 year olds will live and breathe soccer and attend Bundesliga (German First Division) matches.

Juergen Kantenwein, coaching director at the Torschuss Academy, will put the young Aussies through their paces and assess their potential.

Juergen, who has an A Level coaching licence from the German football association will refer players deemed suitable for trials at German clubs.

This trip of a lifetime was arranged by the boys’ local management company, Reusch Australia.

Managing director Martin Reusch said: "Germany can be the ideal starting point for young players wanting a career in Europe.

"By stopping off on the way at the Academy, they are sure to be in top shape for any trials that might follow.

"With Juergen’s help, they will also be guided to clubs that suit their playing style and importantly, that suit their stage of development."
