Sea Scouts to benefit from rezoning

Bensville Sea Scouts would receive a $20,000 contribution towards refurbishment or relocation of their scout hall if a property rezoning in Kallaroo Rd, Bensville, proceeds.

The contribution is part of a total of $135,000 in contributions required by Gosford Council in its approval of a residential rezoning application.

Developer Crighton Properties has also been required to make contributions towards roadworks, "space embellishment" and community facilities.

The majority of existing trees and vegetation in the area would be retained and conditions were placed on the nature of the works to ensure long-term survival of trees in the surrounding area.

The original proposal was altered to reduce risk of flooding in some areas of the proposed subdivision.
