RSL branch gets computer grant

The Woy Woy Ettalong Hardys Bay Sub-branch of the RSL is to receive a Federal Government grant of $1376 to upgrade computer facilities.

Robertson Mr Jim Lloyd announced the grant recently to help veterans and war widows make claims for pensions and other benefits.

The grant is part of the $1.613 million in Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) funding to be allocated during 2001–2002, with $5.6 million committed over four years to support ex-service organisations through improved resources and training programs.

"Ex-service organisations play a vital role in supporting veterans, war widows and widowers through the claims application and appeals process," Mr Lloyd said.

"The BEST Program offers funds to ensure these organisations have the resources to provide and maintain quality services to their members."
