Drainage scheme for Cogra Rd
Gosford Council is to provide stormwater drainage to prevent flooding of properties and homes in the area of Cogra Rd, Woy Woy.
Council estimates that the proposed drainage improvement work will cost about $4 million and will be done in stages over the next few years.
Work involves trunk and street drainage with 2.4m diameter pipes at the outlet and 375mm diameter pipes and associated stormwater collection pits at the upstream end of the catchment.
The nature of the work is similar to that recently completed in the Warwick and Wallaby St catchment of Woy Woy.
The actual cost of the works will depend on issues of traffic and access, clashes with underground services and construction work in sandy subsoil particularly under the rail line.
Drainage of the area is expected to be completed by 2003-2004.
