Relay raises about $79,000

The Peninsula Relay for Life held recently at Woy Woy Oval raised about $79,000, according to NSW Cancer Council manager and regional programs coordinator Ms Marie Mazaroli.

Ms Mazaroli said that the figure would be finalised in about three weeks.

About 1200 people took part in the relay.

"The committee and the Cancer Council are really happy with the result," Ms Mazaroli said.

She said the money raised would make a considerable difference to Cancer research and support for those suffering from Cancer.
