Petition received
Gosford Council has just acknowledged receiving a petition with over 1000 signatures, almost 12 months after it was compiled.
The petition, rejecting high-rise in the Gosford local government area, is listed in the council agenda for Tuesday, March 28.
Peninsula resident Mr Bryan Ellis sent the petition and a letter to council, as well as to then Minister for Planning Mr Craig Knowles, in April last year.
Mr Ellis stated in the letter that the petition was compiled in one week by a few concerned residents and that people were queuing up to sign it.
Mr Ellis further stated that the petition and the result of the poll at the last council election roundly rejected a high-rise vision for Gosford City.
