Clearing investigated

An investigation of clearing at Ettymalong Creek has found that "bracken under scrub and the principal trees remain on site".

Cr Terry Latella asked Director of Environment and Planning Ms Colleen Worthy-Jennings at Gosford Council's December 6 meeting to "investigate vegetation clearing at Ettymalong Creek, Umina in particular at the rear of 18 Kahibah Rd where substantial underscrubbing of an environmentally critical area may have occurred".

A report from the director stated that "an inspection of the area has revealed that the dwelling previously erected at 18 Kahibah Rd, Umina has been removed from the site".

"This is exempt development pursuant to the Gosford Planning Scheme Ordinance. "There has been some removal of vegetation from the site relating to the removal of the residential building.

"There may have been selective removal of some exotic species.

"The bracken under scrub and the principal trees remain on the site."
