Patisserie wins baking medals

Bremen Patisserie won nine medals at the Newcastle Baking Show on March 15.

The patisserie won the Bob Connell Memorial Trophy for the champion cake of the show for the second year in a row.

Bremen won first place for best novelty cake which was decorated by Caroline Barber.

The patisserie also took out first place for best wedding cake, decorated by Joan McDonald.

Bremen also won first place for plain meat pies, and second and third placings for French Pastries, gourmet pies, quiches and gateaux.

"We are very proud of our products produced here in Umina," said principal baker Mr Ron Bruns.

"We are looking forward to the great Aussie Meat Pie competition where we are aiming to win the best pie in Australia award."

Bremen Patisserie will be featured in an SBS documentary based on four Australian pie makers of differing nationalities.
